Tswanacrete is the authorised distributor of ABE Construction Chemicals in Botswana. ABE is one of southern Africa's most established and comprehensive construction chemicals manufacturers, with a product range that covers waterproofing, concrete repair and protection, adhesives, grouts, sealants, joint fillers, and surface treatments.

We stock a core range of ABE products in Gaborone, with the full range available to order. Our team can assist with product selection and system specification for roofing, basement waterproofing, structural repair, and wet area applications.

Note: System performance depends on correct substrate preparation and application in accordance with the manufacturer's specification. We supply technical documentation and can advise on application requirements, but installation must be carried out by suitably experienced contractors.

Waterproofing Systems

ABE offers a range of waterproofing systems suited to different applications, substrates, and exposure conditions. The correct system depends on the structure, water pressure, substrate condition, and intended use of the space being protected.

Bitumen Membrane Waterproofing

Self-adhesive and torch-applied bitumen membrane systems for roofs, podiums, and below-ground structures. ABE's bitumen membrane range includes both APP (atactic polypropylene) modified and SBS-modified torch-on products offering high flexibility and durability. Suitable for flat and low-pitch roofing applications.

Crystalline Waterproofing

Penetrating crystalline waterproofing systems that chemically react with concrete to form insoluble crystals within the capillary network. Effective for water-retaining structures, basements, water features, and reservoirs where ongoing self-healing performance is required. Available in slurry, dry-shake, and admixture forms.

Cementitious Waterproofing

Polymer-modified cementitious coatings for damp-proofing internal and external surfaces — wet rooms, bathrooms, basements, retaining walls, and planter boxes. Flexible and rigid grades available depending on the movement and crack-bridging requirements of the application.

Liquid Applied Membranes

Acrylic and polyurethane liquid membranes for roofs, balconies, wet areas, and complex geometry. Applied by brush, roller, or spray to form a seamless waterproofing layer. Suitable for remedial waterproofing and new construction where sheet membranes are impractical.

Polyurethane Injection

Expanding polyurethane grout injection systems for sealing active water ingress through cracks, joints, and honeycombed concrete in basements, tunnels, and water-retaining structures. Suitable for both permanent sealing and temporary cut-off.

Waterproof Sealants & Joint Treatments

ABE sealants, expansion joint fillers, and waterstops for controlling water at movement joints, construction joints, and service penetrations. An integral part of any complete waterproofing system that includes joints or transitions between materials.

Concrete Repair & Protection

ABE's concrete repair and protection products are used to restore and protect deteriorated concrete structures — from minor crack repairs to structural reinstatement of spalled and carbonated concrete.

Concrete Repair Mortars

Polymer-modified, fibre-reinforced repair mortars for patching, reinstating, and profiling damaged concrete — spalled columns and beams, honeycombing, impact damage, and weathered surfaces. Available in a range of formulations suited to overhead, vertical, and horizontal applications.

Structural Grouts

Non-shrink, high-strength cementitious and epoxy grouts for base plate bedding, column grouting, post-tensioning anchor grouting, and precision equipment bases. ABE structural grouts provide consistent compressive strength and bond with minimal shrinkage.

Concrete Coatings & Surface Treatments

Penetrating silane/siloxane sealers, anti-carbonation coatings, and surface hardeners that improve concrete durability and reduce chloride ingress, carbonation, and surface abrasion. Used for concrete facades, columns, bridges, and industrial floor surfaces.

Bonding Agents & Primers

Acrylic and epoxy bonding agents for improving adhesion between old and new concrete, repair mortars, and screeds. Correct priming is critical to the long-term performance of any repair system — we advise on the appropriate primer for each substrate condition.
